Detox Your Life : Home & Body
Updated: Mar 14, 2019
What are toxins?
A toxin is any substance that can harm your health. Toxins may be classified as exotoxins ie those excreted by an organism, or endotoxins ie toxins that are structurally part of bacteria.
Many toxins enter the body through the consumption of food, drink and medicine but there are also many that are also inhaled or absorbed. Also, the bacteria in your body can also produce toxic substance as well.
To reduce the toxic burden on the body, let’s bring some awareness to what you may be exposed to on daily basis. Each of these can significantly add a toxic burden to your body – and you may not even be aware of them!
Here's a checklist (from the Detox Your Life program) to help you identify your environmental exposure but generally they fall into one of the following categories and can make you feel really sluggish and unwell if your body can’t cope with the load.
Use natural cleaners such as bi-carb soda, white vinegar and lemon juice; eucalyptus; lemon myrtle. Switch off wi-fi at night. Switch air fresheners for indoor plants and fresh herbs.
